Left 4 Dead 2 - The Valve | EA Games rant.

Since Sierra died off and counter-strike became a national FPS phenomenon, Valve created a wonderful program through something called Steam. Get it? Steam? Valve? Valve Steam? Yeah. Okay.

Point being, since they have created so many games, they've also decided to add other games from other companies under their buckle to sell it over this program. You keep it forever guys. No matter where you are. Those games stay on your account. No additional costs unless the game is one of those grinding MMORPG games. From Command & Conquer, to Half-Life 2. To source mods, videos, editing programs, and games created by no namer's who end up having a name for themselves.

Recently, Valve has stopped production of a bunch of games for their new incoming title this month. Left 4 Dead 2 comes out sometime in November and valve has recently given us a demo to play. Of course, being the owner of the first one, I decided to play it to see if it was worth 50 bucks. Or 44 if you pre-ordered it.

I have to say, I'm impressed with certain aspects, while not so much in others. According to steam, my Graphics card cannot run the game. Well. I ran it anyway, and also not in the highest graphics, it was still playable with a low Frames per second rate. No biggie. I continued to play through it as Coach. The big black fellow who has a problem with stairs. I realized that it wasn't much different from Left 4 Dead 1. The new scenery was nice. Instead of having the dark city, we've had a little light from the south. The new zombies are nice. They have security guard zombies who are bullet proof, so you can be like me, swinging your cooking pan at their heads but that takes forever too. The new infect are something that completely throws me off. The Jockey, which basically rides around on your shoulders until you or your fellow partners can knock it off. The Spitter spits acid on the floor which damages you more over time, and even more if you're stupid enough to stand in it. Chargers charge through all four survivors and pins the final fourth somewhere, and squeezing him/her slowly. Essentially, yes. They totally made Left 4 Dead 2 interesting. It would definitely be worth the time to play and have a zombie panic moment with your friends, figuring out why Bob is shooting Joe and why George is afk in the corner while you are trying to figure out where the button is to stop the hoard.

There's one issue though. I don't think it's worth 50 dollars. I'm not going to whine about the prices that much, but I feel like it isn't a game that is worth 50 bucks. None of the actual mechanics of the game have changed, although they have added new levels, but nothing that makes it truly outstanding from the first Left 4 Dead. I hear they also updated the AI director which controls the infected zombies of the game if you aren't playing versus mode. I can see the refinement they did in that as well, but I still feel like 50 bucks is a lot. But enough about the price. Even if I feel like the game isn't worth 50, there are people who are willing to pay 50 for the game, and Valve will get there money.

But I don't think it was a valve decision. Let's put it this way... Left 4 Dead was also a project in tie with EA Games as the distributor. I somehow feel EA's greediness effected the actual production of Left 4 Dead. Not to say that Valve had no say, but I think EA games has pushed them to create a second part of the series early, but to make one worth more money. Back then, Valve had released Portal, Half-Life Episode one and two, along with the original Half-Life 2, and Team Fortress 2. Located in a box called the Orange box. For 50 dollars. That's...five games. For 50 dollars. Now it's like. "Wow!" And mind you, NONE of those games were crappy. Absolutely not. Left 4 Dead series? 50 bucks each unless you happened to run across a 30 dollar deal like I did the first time. Perhaps valve knew they could bring in more money. But Team Fortress 2 has been recieving free updates for some time now. I feel like Left 4 Dead 2 is basically a non-severe upgrade from the original, as there is no difference in graphics that much (looks yes, but not over all design). Notihng but a few upgrades it seems to me.

I'd still give from what I've seen a solid 80 score out of a 100. But it's not worth 50 dollars to me. Wait for it to be cheaper, in my opinion, then get your money's worth. But if you are true to being an L4D fan? Go for it. My opinion doesn't matter.

Beyond that, Life is pretty okay. Not much to say, but I wanted to say something as if to tell you I have been keeping this thing alive, even if no one does read this. But I've been looking around lately and I still don't know what to do for College.

I'm a person who prefers to informal lively hood of a job. Someone who prefers to use creativity and common sense, rather than logic and thinking outside of the box. Creativity does not grant thinking outside of the box all of the time. It just lets you manipulate things to your unrealistic being. What's funner than that? In any case. Maybe you guys have a recommendation for me as a major? If so, please let me know! Any form of it is taken. IM, E-mail, comments, bla bla.

I'm all ears. After all, I don't know much... :O

It's time to revisit! No stopping me this time! I hope...

Yes! I'm in College. I have been for half a semester now, and I have been absent from my blog for more than that. Mostly because I've been a bum, and lazy in life over all. But, hopefully I am strong enough to fix that.

Along with this post, I want to update a few things indeed.

First off, I do want to bring back my Etrian Odyssey journal type thing. However, instead of being a journal, I'll try to make it seem more like a story. This time, using a set of characters I can work with; Ones that can sound as familiar as me and my friends. Yes in real life. Yes, what they would be portrayed as with personality and perhaps to their own liking. Unfortunately, not everyone can be a ninja. Here's how it goes I guess...

"One sunny morning, down the road to Etria. The city known for its yggdrasil labyrinth and its hidden secrets. Adventurer's from far away places have come to explore and discover the darkness that shrouds this enlarged tree. Of course, this probably should be taken a bit more seriously. Exploring unknown dangers lead to unsafe returns, and perhaps even death. But that's not the case. Not with the Rhimme guild.

The Rhimme Guild consists of nine men and women dedicated to one purpose; to test their bonds with one another. Who knows? Maybe they'll be more to explore the depths of the forest and down below. Maybe they can be the ones to unlock the secrets with a feather light heart and personality. Let's be honest though, these people have no experience with wielding a sword, let alone a flier that was used to inform them. No. They couldn't light up the flier with flying colors of magic either. Unfortunately, they are young naive people. And so... Where does our story begin? With the seriousness of a hardy adventurer? Or the mindset of a hormone-pumped teen who just wants to feel invincible?"

That was right out of my ass guys. What do you think? :D I have revisited the first Etrian Odyssey in hopes of beating the game level by level, at the same time writing little chunks of story in what plays out in my mind with these rambunctious characters I've created out of my friends. My friends are quite serious people however. Don't get me wrong. They have higher standards than I do for life, and that makes them all the better. I just want to make people smile and realize sometimes it's just fun to... well. Poke fun.

Other than that, kRO (Korean Ragnarok Online) as well as many of the other asian countries have finally released their third classes. Although in an open beta, stages it seems to have come across nicely. More so than their Ragnarok Online 2 project which went down the toilet. Seriously. I was looking forward to it this whole time. With a sound track by Yoko Kanno? What happened Gravity? StarCraft took over?

With StarCraft in mind, StarCraft two has also been set back. The Beta was supposed to happen this summer (Of 2009). That didn't happen. In fact, they haven't even let us know when it was supposed to be if not back then. Instead, they released a fourth Battle Report, showing a battle between the first Terran Bonjwa (Great player meaning... I guess we could put it) David Kim versus some Korean guy playing as Protoss. An impressive play on both players parts and if you know/understand gaming mechanics/are a geek. You can follow the game-play easily and go, "Wow! How did that happen?!" Well my friends. This is indeed a watch if you have been one of those fans eagerly awaiting StarCraft II like I have.

On a more preview like note, November is a month packed with some new games for Kids and adults a like that have hit the hot list for the upcoming Holidays. Almost hotter than your turkey dinner guys. (Not really.) I guess one of the biggest hypes (For me anyway), is Assassin's Creed 2. The intriguing story will hopefully put us in a better understanding from where the first one left us off. However, I think what seems to bother me the most is that the main character was not Altair. Does that mean Enzio isn't either? Not meaning they weren't the main part of the game, but there was a guy from the future who had his DNA linked to this people... Or has Ubisoft decided to take a different look into the game?

For semi-retro gamers, a new Zelda game for the DS also happens to be coming out in the form of another Toon Link game. Which isn't bad, but I wasn't one of those fans who enjoyed the last one before. I was a big four swords fan, and I hope they can reproduce that on the DS soon.

On another note, since I don't want to write too much about that, Nintendo seems to be struggling compared to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox. Mind you PS3 has hit a new high in Asian countries for some reason (Why not sooner??) and has left Nintendo with its strange... new finger mechanic. Seriously. It seems that Nintendo has been creating so many new gimmicks that means nothing to true gamers, and that their idea of family fun is slowly fading away. By all means, try a little harder. Project NATAL done by Microsoft's Xbox360 is a bit far fetched, but its definitely a better idea than say... a clip that goes on your finger... Play Station 3 is holding many new surprises supposedly, now that our times have caught up with its over-zealous technology back then. In fact, the new slim PS3 works wonders. The -Only- bad thing about it is that it cannot play PlayStation 2 games at all. QQ. But hey, maybe you were one of those people who kept that too. I didn't. For some reason... Oh well.

Beyond that, the Nintendo's DS has also been falling to... None other than the iPhone. What? No way... Well yes way. In fact, since they both have 'touch' screens and both have 'games' why not call it competition? The new DSi has a camera. So does the iphone. Wifi? Got it. Communications? Uhm... The DSi lacks my good people. An iPhone... is a phone indeed. And since I've downgraded to a blackberry (I call a suckberry, but hey... Sorry guys. iPhone is way more simpler. I'll leave that for another post) it's probably been one of the biggest up coming things changing the way people do texting, calling, and... internet searching at this point.

On another note, Ragnarok Online DS for a big fan boy like me is scheduled to be released next year as well. Other imports I'd like to see? 7th Dragon for sure, but Sega is still making horribly bad Sonic the Hedgehog games. No shitting on the Hedgehog, but really... They've been doing an awful job at making him look better.

New York City hasn't changed much either. The weather, still as random as ever. Oh, but I do go to Lehman College. (If you choose to stalk me) I can't complain much, except that I feel the college based on its students has a very... segregated feel to it. Done by black people no less, who view other races as impeding people upon their education. There are friends I have though, who make me feel better about taking an hour long train ride to the Bronx though. It's a shame they can't always come to Manhattan with me. I've made some great friends, those who listen to my insanity and who can actually listen to me rant about extremely random things, and... well when I get over the top, that is just the way it is. I do intend to transfer out sometime soon though. Hunter College is much more convenient than Lehman College, and I feel I could get more out of it since it's a bit more diverse. Maybe not. Instead of black people (no offense! Honestly!), I get white people (It's okay if I say this though right?). Other than that, America has supposedly turned for the best. Since Obama has recently hit his office chair easily, he is on high ropes my friends. And there is no easy way down for him if he screws up. I won't say that he won't, or he will... but there is pressure on this man, and I wish him the best of luck, and all the strength he could possibly muster to make a difference.

On a more note about my life, College has been an okay experience. I'm disappointed, and more so to say that it's over-rated. I expected way more, but maybe that's because I'm not a party person, nor am I very far from my home in the first place. Maybe I'm not in the exact school I want to be in either. I have to say though, Psychology also happens to be something that is over-rated to me as a class as well. I find nothing interesting about labeling all these problems that people have within the first introductory class. I haven't been doing great at that class. In fact, I'll be honest with you; I'm borderline at this point, and I should've dropped the class. But I'm doing my best to come back and make up for it. Even through math. (Yes I'm actually trying! ... To get out of here.) Professor's here, not to disrespect them, but I feel like they could possibly be doing more... But that could just be because of the educational system we've developed around money. Oh well... What can I do. Try harder. That's what I have to do. For what? I don't know, but if I don't... I don't really want to know what happens then.

As an ending note, I will leave you with a couple of links...

http://kykacamera.blogspot.com/ - This is an old picture blog project I started with my sister.(not my real sister, I just happen to love her like one) We never really went through with it, and well. I want to bring it back because there are some nice pictures I should have taken. Well. She updated it, and I guess it's my turn. give me this week to do such a thing, and I will try to come back with something breathtaking. (Not me, though. I'm not very charming-looking. Just charming, maybe.)

https://www.7chan.org/fl/src/vip.swf - Since I am a gamer fan, and many of my friends are, I also leave you with this. A... compilation...? Well, it's music from many many games, dating from way back then, to now. Plenty of things to listen to. Earth Bound, Mario, to Call of Duty, Rise of Nations, and even Braid! (Braid has an amazing soundtrack by the way, if you are a person who likes to listen orchestrated/classical music).

http://shirt.woot.com/ - I bought a shirt here. It has some cute gummy bears on it and a sign that says "Please, don't eat the bears!" This is a website (Blog.) that contains many t-shirt graphics made from many people, and voted by many people as "Yay!" or "Nay!" You can find some pretty awesome shirts, and some strange ones too. But if you're running low on shirts, or you simply have 15 bucks lying around for a t-shirt to an event, I suggest this website. Has a nice variety of things.

With that, I end my night with saying that I will try to update this as much as possible, but I intend to get through college with as much "OPTIMISM" as possible, seemingly as I don't have a lot according to both my family and friends. Tell me why I need to be so excited about everything I do in life? I'll save that for another post too... Hope to hear from some of you soon!

Without a Doubt in my Mind

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OkiGO7u-6w

How many messages can you find in this one song? Along with the images what does it tell you?

It's been a 'long' time since I've posted, but I feel that its urgent to point out one thing. Not just that our "King" of pop has died. But Michael Jackson has united people around the world with music. Where others would have war and kings would fight and vie for power. Just a point out. With that much respect, I will give.

No new notices. E3 Happened a while ago. But a review for what I wanted...

Starcraft2 , Assasin's Creed 2, Golden Sun 2.
Diablo 3

What I've been recently doing...

WoW, TF2, L4D, D2... Basking in the games that I grew up with. But I'm off to college, and I can't say I have much time to update what I want to say.

Keep your eyes open, and observe.

What alurring sounds

Guess I'm kind of out of it today.... Lesse what updates I have in my world today if it matters..

Anjunadeep came out a while ago, I suggest not buying it on iTunes for it fails to have a radiohead remix. Go find another way to buy it. It is one great CD. Industrial btw... If anyone has an idea where I can get some, please gimme a link to some, or somewhere to buy.

TF2 Scout update is out, and everyone is complaining about it. Holy crap. The Sandman is getting a lot of attention. Now I can't say its the most annoying thing. I think backburning pyros or sucessful spies are worse. But. I guess its because I'm usually ont he move and... AROUND MY TEAM MATES. I can see where people are coming with saying its bad. But I do agree the scout update needs a fix. Clearly the Energy Drink is pathetic... Don't want to go into this too much..

Uh UH UH... Shit. I don't know what else.

I'm kind of pissed at everyone. Bai.

A E I O U | 1 2 3 4 5 | Z Y X W V | 10 9 8 7 6 {|} - UndEtErmInEd

"The the initial part of your mind, you would think that perhaps a little glimpse of space is enough to inspire a child to look for something... far out there. You would think watching his father break his back at work, or watching his mother care for both... He would grow to understand the hardships of life."

"But all is forgotten in the bliss of our own youth and self invigorating actions. Our bodies tell us to rebel, as they tell themselves we must rebel. When is it the time when people know to understand. Why is it, when faced with such a desperate moment, people will change."

"A dying cause, a lonely reason, or a loveless relationship. In all of that of a purest form... It's hard to believe so many would follow the same pattern. But so many -- How could we be so sure? Someone could be as such..."

"The buttons on a coat, have a story that determines if it should be boat. The material decides its price. The person who wears it determines its use. The people around it determine its class. People purposely look to criticize. Others find a reason to cry. Many look for a loving reason. Many fall desperate. To everything."

"A set distinction between a man and a woman. Follow suit with skin color. Accent. Clothes. Discipline. Culture. Food. Hard is it, to accept those things. Everything falls into the category of right or wrong. Shades of Grey, often lost in an argument of a swirling circle of in-depth motions. A sanction of disregards."

STX SouL

I am a Progaming Starcraft nerd indeed. STX SouL is my favorite team, along with my favorite player HwaSin... Obviously I don't take credit for the picture, but I thought a visual would be nice. The Red Sniper is his nickname. The reason for that is because in his best match ups (I suggest skipping this paragraph if you don't care, or know what I'm talking about) is against zerg. Zerg in Korea is signified by a red icon. Hence the Red Sniper. He has great micro on things when playing his Marine/Medic combination's. Anyways. STX SouL also holds one of the few recognized female progamers. Pretty interesting in my opinion... Moving on with a bit of more news from my world.

Apparently someone in New York City was dragged 17 miles (Dead obviously) after being picked up by another car. Essentially this car picked up the body from another car that hit the person. That person called the police saying he might have hit someone, but could not find the body. Well. They found it 17 miles away. The person's entire body is mangled and its hard to find identification. My first response.. How the fuck does no one see this person on a car, being dragged for 17 miles? Honestly, someone should be bound to see that body. Or at least a trail of blood. I fail to see any reason why this should've happened...

I've been looking for new types of music. So I welcome anything at the moment. Though I will say the only thing that is off the list are things from American Culture Rap, and some R & B songs. Honestly, they just don't appeal to me. Kanye West, Lil' Wayne... All that stuff. Not me. So hand me something else.

In other worlds, Team Fortress 2 has the scout update this week. This means I will have something to do this week on one of my last mid-winter vacations. That's right! I'm in my last year of high school, and you have no idea how happy I am to leave. I can't say I've had the best High School experience. I wish it could be better, and I don't encourage ever looking forward to it. It's definitely not a High School musical.

What else has happened... Oh, obviously I find it easier to update my photo blog, so if anyone does pay attention to this, I also suggest looking at that from time to time. That gets updated more often than this does.

I will also put another link on the side for those who want to know about a fan-made I believe... fan-made card game of Team Fortress 2. Give him some tips, and maybe you can help this guy out with his stuff.

See you around, and remember; Be more observant.

Photography Blog

So one of the new things I'm starting this year with a good friend of mine, also my fake sister... is a photo blog. Obviously I'm not a photographer, but I do try to take pictures of interesting things.

I feel as if its a visual appearance of how the city life looks compared to one on the west side, in this case Oregon which is suburban compared to the big city.

I've already put a few things on it, and I intend to add a link to the side soon. So hopefully you few lookers will look into that.

---

On another notice, my 1st semester of my last year in high school has ended. I am entering my second and last semester in this school, which is quite exciting. However, I still have a year long paper to write, and classes to take so there is no real break yet.

On a gaming note, Batoo Starleague of Starcraft competitions in Korea have started. You can find more information on that on gosugamers.net

A few games to look forward to this year for myself... (Releases this year 2009)

-7th Dragon for the DS
- Final Fantasy XIII for PS3
-Starcraft 2 (Hoping for)
-Diablo 3 (Hoping For)

This list is probably gonna change a lot, but this is what I have so far. At the moment, Team Fortress 2 is inputting its scout update soon. I'm hoping that I can get my hands on Left 4 Dead soon, and Little Bit Planet as well.

Music wise, Above & Beyond will be having a concert in February on Bleecker street of New York City. You'll have to be 19 or older to go, so you won't see me there. This hopefully promotes their first Anjunadeep album which I look forward too. If you haven't heard, Armin Van Buuren has been crowned #1 DJ again in October as well.

Other than all that, we all know an economic crisis has hit the world. So to all of you, and to myself, I wish the best of luck.
